Tea List — The London Tea Room

Rooibos 7 Top Reasons Why You Should Drink 6 Cups Daily

Dubai has devised a rather unorthodox plan to incentivize its citizens to lose weight: Shed pounds, and we'll give you some gold. The ultimate question. If 1200 daily low-fat calories combined with an hour of daily cardio were the answer, we wouldn't be having this debate. We'd just eat less and move more and poof, we're all skinny and happy ever after. In the real world, people try caloric restriction plus chronic cardio and they get cranky, irratable, sick, weak, lose muscle mass, lose hair, lose bone density, lose fertility, and so on. Sure, they lose weight but is that a life worth living? I don't blame them for giving up and becoming a social justice warrior for a fat acceptance movement (read: trying to move the goal posts).

Patients who had Roux-en-Y gastric bypass lost slightly more weight than those who had sleeve gastrectomy in both studies; however, these numbers are not large enough to be clinically significant. In the Swiss study, excess body mass index loss was 61.1% for sleeve gastrectomy compared with 68.3% Roux-en-Y gastric bypass at 5 years. In the Finnish study, the estimated mean percentage excess weight loss was 49% after sleeve gastrectomy compared with 57% after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass at 5 years.
